Comedy just silly enough to make you think! Funny things said by a funny guy. Self-deprecating, high energy and hilarious laugh out loud comedy. Stand-up comedy the right way ... with punch lines.
Chard grew up as a theater actor. However, it was 1989 when Chard started his stand up comedy career in Seattle, Washington. Chard was also a well known main stage performer with the Seattle branch of the world renown Improv organization Theater Sports and Unexpected Productions. He performed regularly in Seattle until he left the city in 1992 to begin his career as a stand-up comic. Chard and his career took off from Seattle in his 1975 VW Bus. He began touring the country with his good friend, fellow comic and future roommate, Mitch Hedberg. Mitch and Chard traveled to 33 states in about ten weeks. In 1994 Mitch Hedberg, Jana Johnson and Chard Hogan moved Pacifica California just outside of San Francisco. Chard's career eventually brought him to Hollywood in 1996.
In 2007 Chard recorded his first Stand-up Comedy CD. "Chard Remains" was recorded in Seattle at Chard's home club, The Comedy Underground. The CD includes a bonus track at the end of the show. The track is a song called Rebel Bird, which was written, performed and produced by VAL MYERS' comedy punk band Avant Tarde. (Chard was a part time member of this band and plays the bird in the song.) The CD comes with a six page booklet that provides bonus material, pictures and tributes to Val Myers, the late Kelly Moran and the late Mitch Hedberg.
Chard played a supporting role in the Mitch Hedberg film, "Los Enchiladas." Chard also had a supporting role in the Ian Harris film, "It Burns When I Laugh" which is currently featured on NETFLIX and has a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. More information can always be found on www.chardhogan.com. Chard would like to remind everyone of the existence of frogs and cheese.
